30 years of jewellery-making and I still love it: working with
the stones and metals, wonderful materials that are part of the
Earth.
I have been active in the women's and lesbian movement for a long
time, and this inspires my wish to create jewellery that grows from
our spiritual roots and gives strength to women.
Sustainability at Silverweed
Sustainability is especially important to me and since 2011, all
jewellery at Silverweed has been made using recycled precious metals
only.
- All scrap is carefully separated and reused.
- I encourage my customers to utilize their own broken or unused
jewellery for commissions or course work, if at all possible.
- I buy used precious metals.
- Many customers have given me their unused jewellery.
Here a big thank you to all who have donated in the past and a
reminder to all: don't throw away that piece of broken chain or
the unspeakable jewellery of your grandmothers - it can be recycled
at Silverweed!
